I have something new to blog about...!!! Yay! Instead of bitching about how much SJ sucked I am going to chronicle my newest adventure or should I say - venture! ...My business that I have been talking about starting for years.
I have loved to gift wrap since I started wrapping Christmas gifts for my mom when I was like 15 and got my first job at Bed Bath & Beyond around the same time where I was the SME on free bridal registry wrapping.
After my first and only year of college I decided that I wanted to work for myself and I came up with the idea for a gift wrap service and now, after many changing seasons of life, my idea has evolved into my current plan to open a gift boutique.
My boutique will carry things that you can give as gifts and will have a plethora of giftwrap, bags, etc for sale with the actual wrapping service complimentary. This is just the "in a nutshell" idea.
I also have an idea for an adjacent coffee shop, but that's just an add-on idea.
Since I have to keep my job for the foreseeable future, my plan is to work on gathering items and crafts that I will make to sell at local craft fairs and flea markets in the spring. The season just ended so I have the winter to get working. I figure this is a good way to break into the gift business slowly.
Ya know, my family always gave me a hard time because anywhere we would go, the only thing I would be excited about was weather or not they had a gift shop. I guess they will have to eat their words now!
