As much as I like to believe it, round is not a shape when it comes to my body. I am tired of being unhappy with how I look. I am tired of not being able to wear clothes that I love because of my roundness. I am also tired of being tired. H is fed up with himself too so we have decided to pursue a healthier lifestyle (for the most part. Don't expect us to give up all yummy food and beer.) I don't diet because I don't like to deprive myself. As long as food is really yummy I will eat it whether its healthy or not. So step #1 is to search out yummy food that is better for us. Step #2 is to get off the couch (or La-Z-Boy in H's case) and get some activity in our routines. Notice I did not say "exercise" - its an 8 letter word (cousin of the 4-letter word).
We're gonna check out the Y and the Sport & Health club because they have pools. H likes to swim and if he goes, I'll go. They also have racquet ball which is quite fun. I dig the yoga too. And if we feel like it maybe we'll get on a machine or 2.
Now that I have bared my intentions to recreate to the world I'm hoping this will give us some much needed motivation. Any tips for self-motivation welcome.
Pray for us. We're gonna need it. ;)

My motivation is wanting to be healthy. I know, that whether or not I lose weight at the evil gym, I am helping my body do what bodies were meant to do: move. Keep at it, it's the price we pay for sitting on our booties all day in front of these dread machines.
A month with a trainer and already "the other Ly" in my contact list is referring to exercise as the norm and to her beloved desktop as a "dread machine"? Remind me to never again question the powers of endorphins.
If you're looking for a racquetball partner, you know where to go. Also, B and I have taken to walking round (and round and round) the lake after dinner. And sometimes in the morn before work. Y'all are more than welcome to join in the festivities.
I also joined the dread weight watchers machine This week. Would welcome your company as right now I am the only member attending these meetings donning an extremely foul mood.
